Periodontal-Restorative relationship: non carious cervical lesions (NCCL) and interproximal restorations. New clinical insights.
The goal of the report is to offer clinical insights related to two different clinical scenarios. In case of gingival recessions and concomitant presence of non-carious cervical lesions (NCCL), a combined periodontal and restorative approach will be proposed. With the aim of restoring the correct relationship between the CEJ and the gingival margin, will be described the surgical-restorative technique by which periodontal plastic procedures and direct reconstruction of hard tissues will be applied. According to the need to determine the proper position and shape of the new CEJ (Cemento Enamel Junction) indeed, it will be discuss the possibility to consider the coverage line forecast as a valid clinical tool.
In the second clinical context, the issue of periodontal relations will be addressed in the presence of a restorative margin iuxta / sub gingival and its relations with the supracrestal connective tissue height (former known as biologic width). In particular, we will try to identify the clinical indications to be able to apply the concepts of Cervical Margin Relocation in the case of direct and indirect interproximal restorations considering the periodontal inflammatory parameters as a clinical guide.
